When I click on a link to find out where I can purchase one of the wines you’ve recommended I am redirected to an LCBO website page that says, “the page you requested does not exist.” Why is that?

Many of the wines reviewed here come from the LCBO Vintages section. which means, in most cases, that the wine you’re looking for is not a permeant listing. The LCBO will purchase a one-time order for a set number of cases and once the wine is sold-out, that’s it, it’s gone.

Do wine companies pay you to review their wines?

No. Although, sometimes wineries and wine agencies will send me wine under a tacit agreement that I might review the bottles they send.

How do you choose which wines to review?

I only review wines that:

• I have personally tasted

• Stand out for quality, price, or rarity

• Are available for purchase in Ontario

• I would recommend to a friend

My brother-in-law is really in to wine. His 40th birthday is coming up and I want to get him a bottle of something special. Is there something you can recommend?
